Refereeing

All qualified referees are being asked to participate in an simple peer review process to improve their skills and maintain their New Zealand Canoe Polo refereeing qualifications. Canoe Polo in New Zealand  is played according to the International Canoe Federation (ICF) Rules of Play. The current rules in various forms can be found here.

Over recent years there have been significant improvements to the written ICF rules. Particular attention should be paid to the definitions section and Goal penalty shot rules ( see Rule 74 for both).
